Studio Fern
A website for a small, calm salon that wants new clients to feel at ease before they walk through the door.
Studio Fern is a fictional business. This is a concept project designed by PR Creative to show an approach, not commissioned client work.

The idea
Studio Fern is an imagined independent salon on the first floor of a town-centre building. It’s easy to walk past, and new clients often aren’t sure about prices or what happens at a first visit. The website needed to set expectations, show prices clearly and make booking feel easy.
Who it’s for
- New clients comparing local salons and looking for clear prices.
- People thinking about colour who want to understand patch tests and consultations first.
- Regular clients who just want to send a booking request quickly.
Design choices
- Gloock, a high-contrast serif, gives the salon an elegant voice without feeling expensive or exclusive.
- Sage and fern green with a blush accent feel calm and natural, with a clay colour reserved for emphasis.
- The price list sits in accessible tabs, so cuts, colour and treatments each stay short and readable on a phone.
- A simple line drawing of a fern stands in for salon photography, which would replace it on a real site.

Headings in Gloock, body text in Outfit.Enquiry features
- The booking request form makes clear it isn’t a confirmed appointment, which avoids awkward misunderstandings.
- Service options are grouped, and “Not sure, I’d like advice” is always an option.
- Preferred days are optional; time of day and first-visit questions help the salon reply with suitable slots.
- The patch-test requirement appears next to the prices and again in the new-client section, so colour clients see it before booking.

For a real business
A live version would need the salon’s own photos, real prices and opening hours, and a decision on whether to keep a request form or connect an online booking system.
